Thomas Grünfeld was born in Leverkusen, Germany in 1956. Studying at the Hochschule fur Bildende Kunste, Stuttgart. Grunfelds  career includes teaching at Goldsmiths College, London, and since 2004 he holds the position of Professor of Sculpture at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. The artist’s work encompasses many media, utilizing painting, sculpture and photography. His sculptural work of blended animals, appear to be provocative; challenging and yet fascinating, situated between dream and reality. Exhibiting all over Europe, New York, Sao Paulo and Sydney Grünfeld currently lives and works in Cologne.
